Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute (CFI) Singapore
The Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute (CFI) Singapore is a premier multi-institutional Centre of Excellence (CoE) committed to advancing cutting-edge research in coastal and flood resilience. Founded with the vision to foster innovation and cultivate a dynamic research ecosystem, CFI aims to place Singapore at the forefront of global efforts in coastal protection and flood management.
Hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS), CFI partners with leading institutions, including Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). The institute is further strengthening its global presence through collaborations with international partners and industry leaders.
CFI is currently overseeing 17 ongoing research projects that focus on key challenges in coastal protection and flood resilience. Through its in-house research initiatives, CFI also works to cultivate a skilled talent pool of local research scientists and engineers. By fostering synergies between academia and industry, CFI enhances educational and professional training in coastal engineering and flood resilience at Institutes of Higher Learning.
